Growing up/growing old, I would story book always/frequently/often spend/waste/devote evenings listening to my abuela/grandmother/grandma tell her/its/these folktales. Every/Each and every/One by one story was a trip to another world, filled with magic/fantastical creatures/supernatural beings, noble figures, and sometimes even a hint of trouble/mischief. They/The stories/Her tales taught me/helped me understand/showed me about life/the world, and always/forever/still today leave a lasting impression/mark on my heart/special place in my memory.
